While the Ecoboost 1.0 (100 and 125ps) are a nice drive, I actually prefer the 1.25 or 1.1 in the MK8. The 2013 with a Z-Tech type motor - although similar symptoms, yes I can say to looking for a Vacuum leak is important. On the Duratech I've got, the MAF/MAP sensor is combined into one - and it is located on the manifold.
