My current ride is an "obsolete" 2005 R1200GS, but ya know, it carries its weight low, and the paralever/telelever suspension design truly works.
I actually just performed a Google search on "Africa Twin Problems" and found quite a lot of fork seals & DCT problems, some electrical and hard to start issues, some rust and button sticking issues. They are not the Honda XR400 of the ADV world.

The Software needed for the 1-2 Upgrade resides in the Engine ECM, and also I think in the DCT Module, or TCM. That is another software/firmware. 2022 Africa Twin Manual. Grand Prix R380B. Remove the oil fill plug and fit funnel into fill hole. For the DCT you will fill 4.4qt and for the Manual you will fill 4.3qt. The qt size bottle of the Honda oil has delineations of 200mL. 1 qt is 946 mL so you can roughly use the mL numbers to get a closer idea of what .4 and .3 of a qt is.

Since 2014, I've owned 2 NC750X DCT bikes, a 2019 Africa Twin & now a 2020 ATAS DCT. With my 2019 AT DCT, I found the throttle to be far more sensitive compared to the NC's. After installing the KAOKO throttle control, I realized I could adjust the tension on the control to create braking friction on the throttle at very slow speeds.
