Whenthe main story missions jump 4-6 levels (e.g. one mission is level 32, the next, level 37), so you wander off to do major side quest lines, but then those quests do the same, so now you have 3-4 storylines you've began but can't finish because all the next missions are a handful of levels above yours
Thisgame is extremely linear, in that the game forces you in your mission choices. In all the other assassins creed games, you can do whatever quest whenever you want.
