The FreeStyle Libre 2 system uses a sensor that's attached to your skin on the back of your upper arm. You can scan the sensor and have the glucose reading displayed on an app in your smartphone ( compatible phones only), or the FreeStyle Libre 2 handheld reader. The sensor must be replaced every 14 days, and the sensors require a prescription.
Stab sensor into arm. Activate with the Libre reader. Wait an hour for the sensor to start. Scan at leisure. Between 2 and 3 you can scan with your phone app and it will tell you something like the sensor is starting. Hope this is helpful. In some regions, you can only use the app with particular sensors.
This works because the app always seems to take the first CGM reading properly when the app is restarted. It's a reliable solution but they really need to fix this (it could also be Apple's fault - they'll mess things up and refuse to address them when they're short on resources). LiliumLiliaeMay. When I placed a new sensor on the phone wouldn’t scan it I assumed it was a faulty sensor. No it is this phone. My old phone scans them fine and remains linked for 2 weeks as did this
